That said, this was in 2006, I’m not sure if it should be more difficult now to get a loan. Depending on my experience with the bank, they basically wanted to know how I would’ve been able to pay them back. I did plenty of research on other clothing stores that were in similar mall location as me and made better estimations that I could depending on the info I had. I agree that if you have no vision for your boutique, you will have no end result. You also said that you can look at colors and pictures from magazines and online to find some inspiration. I’d say if inventory was getting low I could order something and have it in by the next week. I usually like to do a combination of both. You can do it both ways -you can buy in advance for the upcoming season or sometimes you can buy immediates. Buying styles that were available for immediate delivery helped me when I was just starting out and didn’t really know how to estimate my sales.
