She based idea on a Chicago organization called Bottomless Closet that distributes used professional clothing to disadvantaged women. Among additional organizations considering drives has been the 145 attorney law firm of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky Walker in Los Angeles. Anyways, helping him dress for his newest role is a notforprofit organization called Clothes the Deal, Ann brainchild Christie Gusiff, 31, a 1996 MBA graduate from Anderson School at UCLA. In meantime, the highquality secondhand clothing is gathered in innovative ways at retail shops and professional organizations.
You see, gusiff has always been hoping to build a stable of corporations willing to hold companywide drives. Weathervane, a ny retailer on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, is serving as a ‘dropoff’ site. It is in meantime, she is supported by her husband, John, a management consultant.
Gusiff, who has invested $ 4500 so far in starting the company and doing best in order to secure its nonprofit status, has yet to draw any pay from Clothes the Deal. She hopes to finally get a salary as organization lures funding from entrepreneurs, guys and gals and foundations. Honing her networking skills, Gusiff has sought and similar common events that have led to prospects of corporate support. Shimokochi/Reeves, a Los Angeles identity and package design consultancy that Gusiff worked with at a previous job, donated a logo design. Clothes Deal requires that all donated clothing be cleaned, pressed and on hangers. Nissan will set up armoires in 2 locations in anticipation of netting 1000 clothing articles. Donating customers got a coupon for 20percent off an item at a participating store and in addition a free pair of pantyhose.
