Fox News spokesperson said that no such edict exists on what women are required to wear. You may notice that hemlines are creeping up, fewer shirts are tucked in, and more skin is exposed. Some female Fox News hosts do occasionally wear pants on air, including Greta Van Susteren,Maria Bartiromo and Megyn Kelly. Just think for a moment. Look around the office.

Loads of employees are ditching their heavy winter clothing and beginning to sport skimpier, more casual summertime garb, as the warmer weather moves in.

As the temperatures rise, it’ll get even worse. We are talking about all office attire ‘nonos’. Nicole Williams, a LinkedIn career expert and best selling author. She says, when the weather is warmer we often lose the tights and the layers and toss on our spring brights and sandals.

Almost any workplace has different dress code expectations and policiesbut if you’re working in the corporate world or an office environment, for the most part there’re general rules of thumb all employees must follow. Important meetings and outings can happen at the drop of a hat, and if an employee is dressed inappropriately, it can reflect very poorly on their company. It’s always important to look professional and appropriate in the workplace, Handal says.

While revealing blouses, sheer fabrics, and bare legs are just some common wardrobe mistakes women tend to make during warmer months at work, handal says high skirt hemlines.

She cites flip flops, shorts, spaghetti straps, halter tops, tube tops, and miniskirts as the biggest attire mishaps among women. In relaxed offices, women can push boundaries as ‘well just like sandals and flip flops, is being more prevalent as the weather warms up. Ensure your bra straps are safely tucked away. Your Ray Bans shouldn’t be used as a head band. Lose the sunglasses once you’re indoors -that’s a huge summer attire offense. Did you hear of something like that before, am I correct? So it is a major distraction and makes you come off as messy and scattered. These all belong at the beach, bar, gym, or privacy of your ‘home not’ at the office, she says. With all that said… Williams agrees.

Men are guilty, preparing to a bar. Flip flops, shorts, and jerseys may be left for the weekend, And so it’s not nearly as awkward as having to send someone home to change when he is dressed inappropriately, while it may seem silly asking employees not to wear flipflops or tank tops. It may also be helpful for bosses to reiterate that ‘if you have to think about it, hereafter it is probably not appropriate.

don’t fret if your employer suddenly implements a strict dress code. You can wear sandals, she saysbut be certain they’re peep toe or cover a bunch of your foot. Check in with HR, So if you aren’t quite sure what it’s a good idea to wear. Weather most certainly keeping your office cool. Don a cardigan when you’re inside your office, Williams suggests. You won’t risk appearing could’ve been inappropriate for the office, it probably is, he says.

Strike a Balance. A comfortable, happy employee is a more productive employee. However, employers must also remember that sloppy or skimpy summer dress can be distracting to coworkers and can also affect productivity and customer service, Handal explains. Employers need to balance the needs of their clients and corporate culture when determining appropriate dress codes for warmer weather.
