Through AVID, students study ‘notetaking’ skills, get college field trips, and get tutoring sessions. AVID classes prepare students for college. They cater to students who may lack the needed skills and or support systems to be successful. Seriously. Students including Karrington Haynesworth, 14, get turns leading a group assignment while in their ‘AfricanAmerican’ AVID class at Moreno Valley lofty School. So, a great deal of live in poverty.
